Proclamation
WHEREAS, the City of ___________ recognizes the important contributions of its Hispanic community and the importance of the Spanish language in it; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to promote inclusion in its richly diverse community and promote better communication, along with a spirit of cooperation among its citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Citywishes to promote understanding and foster an appreciation for the use of the Spanish language in its community, in addition to saluting citizens who choose to learn and use Spanish as a second language in their daily lives; and
WHEREAS, individuals, businesses and civic-minded groups across the country will be showing their respect and support for learning, as well as using the Spanish language in America by speaking words or phrases in Spanish on ¡Hola! Day.
BE IT THEREFORE PROCLAIMED that the City of _______________ proudly designates October 1st, 2007, and in each year henceforth, as
¡Hola! Day.
